Underwriting Assistant, E&S Casualty

They are seeking a motivated Underwriting Assistant to support and manage workflows between Underwriting and Operations, handling the life cycle of an account including new business, renewals, and servicing of business.

Responsibilities

Support all steps of the underwriting process in conjunction with the underwriting operations function
Liaise with Underwriters, Brokers and Reinsurers as needed to communicate account status and complete outstanding subjectivities
Liaise with Underwriters to confirm policy issuance instructions for policies, endorsements, forms, notices, certificates, etc. and effectively complete coding/issuance
Assist with new and renewal business life cycle work such as submission preparation, rating, referral prep, quoting, binding all the way through to policy issuance and endorsements within assigned authority
Work with internal operations partners to ensure that service standards are being met
Ensuring all parts of the Underwriting workflow are completed both accurately and on time
Assist underwriters processing new business submissions and rating sheets
Assist with other projects supporting the Underwriting team as required
Assists with onboarding of new hires and/or acts a mentor for Underwriting Assistant colleagues

Required

High School diploma, some college is preferred
3-5 years' experience in a related field, P&C industry experience, experience with E&S Lines experience
Must be positive, self-motivated, and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
Highly customer-centric both internally and externally
Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities
Strong collaborative skills in a fast-paced team-centric environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Must be able to work a Hybrid working model
