Project Engineer: Scheduling, Estimating, & Change Order Management
Kimley-Horn is seeking a Project Engineer to join their Transit team in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The role involves managing scheduling, estimating, and change order management for various infrastructure projects, ensuring effective communication and project documentation throughout the process.

Responsibilities
Negotiating and writing up detailed change orders
Reviewing contractor’s cost (labor, equipment, and materials) and comparing it to the owner’s independent cost estimate (ICE)
Aligning scope and quantities, developing cost analysis, and negotiating final cost
Account for and document changes to scope elements, including track, pavement, curb and gutter, utilities/drainage, bridges, soil corrections, stations, and more
Review project contractual documents (i.e. specifications, plans/drawings) and develop detailed cost estimates on specific construction activities based on appropriate production rates and assumed construction approach
Review & evaluate contractor submitted time impact analysis schedules for conformity and reasonableness
Develop project construction schedules using critical path method scheduling
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
7 or more years of related experience
Close attention to detail
Technical writing skills
Ability to follow procedures
Demonstrated ability to manage projects
Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization
Preferred
Experience with Microsoft Project and/or Primavera (P6) software and understanding of critical path method scheduling
Systems experience a plus but not required
