The intern will engage in research that addresses environmental issues and contributes to the Department's decision-making processes.

Responsibilities
Assist in determining current analytical capability of laboratories to measure various contaminants for the development and setting of standards in various media
Assist with ongoing research efforts to determine the efficiency of various tools to identify the material of drinking water service lines and to assess subsequent lead release potential
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of analytical chemistry
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to clearly present complex scientific information in writing and orally
Authorization to work in the United States per the Department of Homeland Security, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations
Possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position
Preferred
Understanding of basic statistical methods
Enrolled at an accredited university/college studying one of the Physical Sciences, Environmental Sciences/Studies, Chemical Sciences, Biological Sciences; or in Civil Engineering, Sanitary Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Mining Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Bio-resource Engineering
