Responsibilities
Identify high impact business opportunities to help members achieve their financial goals
Develop and apply machine learning models to solve business problems
Evaluate and interpret the results of data analysis
Build strong relationships with stakeholders and present insights on a regular cadence communicating findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Design and implement data collection. Build data pipelines to deploy production level datasets
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business leaders to understand needs and offer data-driven solutions
Work with multiple languages and frameworks including: Python, SQL, dbt, Airflow, Tableau, & Cursor
Learn about new technologies, tools, and processes that will build your skill set and help shape your career
Present your summer project and work to SoFi’s senior leadership team
Qualification
Required
Enrolled in an accredited US-based university (working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree) with an expected graduation date of December 2026 or Spring 2027
Must be returning to school for at least one quarter or semester after the internship
Have no more than 12 months of professional full-time work experience (excluding internships and research assistant roles)
Must be willing to relocate to San Francisco Bay Area and be available to work in the San Francisco HQ Office
Some experience in analytics in a non-academic setting (internship, research roles, relevant projects, etc.)
Solid understanding of data science fundamentals
Experience using AI/Agentic tools (not just ChatGPT)
Knowledge of machine learning algorithms, data structures, and systems architecture
Ability to quickly learn new languages and adopt new technologies, methods and processes in a fast-paced work environment
Intellectual curiosity and an affinity for solving problems
