Responsibilities

Uses templates to develop digital learning materials in a variety of formats including print, graphics, audio, video, and interactive multimedia for delivery on a variety of devices
Builds instructional content and interactive learning materials using a variety of e-learning authoring tools such as Brightspace and Articulate 360
Builds course templates in the learning management system following defined best practices and instructional development standards, processes, and timelines
Identifies course-build related issues, reaching out to the appropriate stakeholders offering solutions and coordinating resolutions
Serves on program teams as an expert in the eLDI process and to facilitate communication between organizational units
Applies project management skills, tools, and timelines to ensure course development deadlines are met
Integrates visual and audio technology solutions as part of the course development process
Ensures ADA compliance for all course elements; reviews and adapts course content/instructional materials to support web accessibility
Applies the Norwich Online standards to course development to ensure that courses meet quality standards and makes recommendations for improvements
Completes processes and tasks that support course development and maintenance, such as Works Cited workflow with the Online Librarian Liaison
Evaluates and pilots new and emerging instructional technologies (software and hardware) for online teaching and learning
Develops support documentation for the use of course components (such as LTIs, article access, video creation, etc.) for instructors, learners, and other support staff as needed
Troubleshoots and resolves content delivery and instructional technology issues within the LMS, coordinating with the LMS Admin and ITS as needed
Applies systematic updates/maintenance to the online learning environment from updated terminology to impacts related to course technology changes
Works with vendors and LMS administrators to integrate 3rd party applications to support the learning process
Performs integration set ups with instructors and regularly checks 3rd party applications for updates, updating documentation and informing stakeholders as necessary
Maintains confidentiality of sensitive or private information
Communicates with employees, students, and others in a respectful and clear manner
Serves on University committees, councils, workgroups, or other designated bodies as assigned
Achieves, maintains proficiency in, and utilizes computers, telephones, and other job-related equipment, including related systems and software
Speaks, reads, and writes in English
Communicates by telephone, email, letter, in person, or other means or device
Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Required

Bachelor's degree required. Additional work experience may substitute for degree
1 year experience related to instructional technology
Experience with e-learning applications and learning management systems
Demonstrated skills and ability to apply multimedia development, web development technologies, and online learning
Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects
Experience using applications to develop instructional materials
Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly
Demonstrated ability to author technical documentation
Excellent oral, written communication, listening skills, customer service and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook). Proficiency in web development technologies (web page editors, HTML5, scripting, graphics), and eLearning authoring tools (Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Suite) a plus
Able to sit, squat, reach, push, pull, and manipulate related equipment; lift 15 pounds; travel outdoors to various parts of the campus
Work some evening or weekend hours
