Responsibilities
Responsible for directly interfacing with the manufacturing supplier and our team to ensure the designs are manufacturable
Apply Design for Manufacturing principles to ensure the designs are optimized for production, that the designs are cost-effective and meet high quality standards
Ensure our designs adhere to Common Integrated Processes as documented in Command Media, and drive process improvement into the design culture
Qualification
Required
Experience in metal machining, additive machining, welding, and refractory metals
Ability to apply Design for Manufacturing principles to ensure the designs are optimized for production
Ability to ensure designs are cost-effective and meet high quality standards
Ability to ensure designs adhere to Common Integrated Processes as documented in Command Media
Ability to drive process improvement into the design culture
Preferred
Experience in metal machining, additive machining, welding, and refractory metals
Experience with Additive Manufacturing Refractory Metals
Experience with aerospace flight hardware manufacturing
Experience working with outside suppliers
Experience with Tube-Bending, Machining, Forgings, Carburization or others
Ability to collaborate effectively with adjacent fields (systems engineering, electronics, stress/thermal analysis, configuration management, production, test, quality…)
Excellent verbal/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences
