Responsibilities
Operate special-purpose equipment, conventional lathes and/or mills, and CNC/NC horizontal small lathes
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, manuals, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, sequence of operations, and setup requirements
Set up machines and monitor operations to identify malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions; adjust controls as required
Select, align, and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials on machines including lathes, mills, jig borers, grinders, and shapers
Maintain adherence to safety and quality standards within the workshop environment
Qualification
Required
Operate special-purpose equipment, conventional lathes and/or mills, and CNC/NC horizontal small lathes
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, manuals, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, sequence of operations, and setup requirements
Set up machines and monitor operations to identify malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions; adjust controls as required
Select, align, and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials on machines including lathes, mills, jig borers, grinders, and shapers
Maintain adherence to safety and quality standards within the workshop environment
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions
Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts
Ability to calculate and set machining parameters such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth, and angle of cut
Experience entering, editing, or retrieving CNC machine control programs
Attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
