Security Officer - Hospital Vehicle Patrol

Responsibilities
Provide customer service to clients and guests by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical emergencies, disturbances, and fire or alarm activations, and notify appropriate personnel
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout interior areas, common spaces, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or maintenance concerns
Monitor access points and assist with visitor and vendor entry procedures, including providing directions, checking identification when required, and supporting after-hours access protocols
Observe and report suspicious behavior, unauthorized persons, and policy violations; take appropriate action within post orders and request assistance from site leadership and/or emergency services as needed
Document routine activity, incidents, and service calls in daily logs and reports, including accurate details and timely notifications
Assist staff with de-escalation support and standby presence during sensitive interactions, such as patient discharges, behavioral concerns, and restricted-area access issues
Operate site-specific equipment such as radios, phones, and alarm monitoring systems, and communicate clearly with Allied Universal leadership and on-site departments
Maintain a professional presence and appearance, provide directions and information, and support a welcoming environment while enforcing site rules and procedures
Participate in required trainings and drills, follow post orders, and report policy or operational concerns to Allied Universal supervision
Qualification
Required
Have at least 1+ years of security-related experience
Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED
Be at least 21+ years of age
A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only
