Responsibilities
Advise the CEO, Board, and executive leadership on corporate legal strategy and risk
Lead corporate governance and regulatory oversight; build strong relationships with regulators
Manage litigation and dispute resolution strategy, including oversight of outside counsel
Negotiate and structure key agreements (vendors, technology, reinsurance, distribution, partnerships)
Provide legal direction on complex claims, coverage issues, investigations, and settlements
Partner closely with Claims to strengthen practices, compliance, and outcomes
Qualification
Required
J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership
10+ years practicing law, including 5+ years in P&C insurance
Proven experience in governance, regulatory compliance, contracts, and claims/legal risk
Strong background in negotiating complex agreements independently
Executive-level judgment, clear communication, and the ability to translate legal issues into practical business guidance
Ability to lead teams and manage external counsel effectively
