Business Intelligence Specialist

Kuros Biosciences is a Swiss-headquartered biotech company that is seeking a highly skilled and analytical Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist. In this role, you will work closely with the Data Architect to transform raw data into actionable insights, collaborating with various stakeholders to develop BI solutions and ensure data accuracy and integrity throughout the BI process.

Responsibilities

Support the development of the BI landscape in collaboration with the enterprise architects
Collaborate with the data architect to identify and ingest data from internal applications and external APIs into the data lake
Build and maintain the semantic layer by taking the architect’s raw tables and transform them into business-ready models that reflect the requested KPIs
Design, develop, and maintain BI solutions, including data analytics, dashboards, data models, and reports
Collaborate with stakeholders and business analysts from all Kuros business areas to gather their requirements and deliver effective solutions that fit within the architect’s framework
Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, forecast outcomes, and provide the 'so what' behind the numbers
Lead the design and deployment of high-performance, intuitive dashboards (Power BI/Tableau) that become the 'single source of truth.'
Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security throughout the BI process
Work with the architect to enforce data quality standards, ensuring that application-side changes don't break downstream reporting
Provide training and support to end-users on BI tools and best practices
Monitor and optimize BI system performance
Stay current with industry trends and emerging BI technologies

Required

Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, data analytics, or a related field
Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in BI or data engineering, working also alongside architects of engineering teams
Expert SQL is a must
Proficiency in Python and experience with modern data stack tools
Proven track record of BI project implementation work in an enterprise context
Used to collaborate with various parties - speak 'Business' to the stakeholders and 'Engineer' to the architects
Motivated to understand what the data means for the company's growth
Be able to travel internationally if applicable
Proficiency in BI platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, QlikView), preferably Microsoft solutions
Experienced with cloud-based BI solutions, preferably Azure
Querying and optimizing within the Data Lake
Writing complex SQL and Python for business metrics
Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts and managing ETL/ELT flows
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
UX/UI design for dashboards and self-service BI
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
Familiarity with machine learning and predictive analytics
