Assistant Director of Talent

Responsibilities
Manage a full cycle recruitment process from drafting job descriptions to offer letters
Maintain all federal, state and city regulatory compliance in recruitment
Guide and support supervisors through the hiring process
Phone screen candidates, create interview exercises and interview scripts
Prepare interview panelists with hiring best practices
Facilitate in office interviews including greeting candidates and preparing interview packets for panelists
Manage pre-hire processes including background checks and professional reference checks
Manage all the administrative tasks for the interview process such as posting job openings to job boards, submitting invoices, reimbursements for candidates, collecting interview notes from panelists, managing our LinkedIn Recruiter account and careers inbox
Manage our summer internship program including liaising between the different schools and IA, collaborating internally with supervisors, matching candidates with teams, and facilitating orientation
Schedule orientation sessions throughout the first year of each new hire's employment
Coordinate with other operational team members prior to new hire’s arrivals
Provide guidance to hiring managers on onboarding best practices and specialized experience for each new hire
Greeting new hires on their first day, setting up their desk, and providing new hire gifts
Manage our IA Link program (mentorship program for new staff)
With the support of IA volunteers, plan and execute monthly events activities that engage staff in our organizational values and provide opportunities for religious literacy
Manage logistics for community-building events including catering and event supplies
Schedule, purchase and present anniversary gifts and other types of gifts to staff
Schedule and run annual staff engagement survey
Oversee the annual and mid-year performance review cycles, ensuring equitable and consistent processes across teams
Train supervisors on goal setting, providing feedback, coaching, and documenting performance
Develop and maintain performance management tools, templates, and timelines
Partner with supervisors to address performance challenges with junior-level staff early, creating improvement plans as needed
Ensure performance processes align with organizational values
Create and manage a professional development plan for staff at all levels. Identify training needs through surveys, supervisor input, and performance trends
Coordinate internal and external training opportunities
Manage the professional development fund requests and budget
Evaluate training effectiveness and adjust offerings to meet evolving organizational and staff needs
Qualification
Required
A Bachelor's degree
5- 8 years of experience in talent management, organizational development, or related HR expertise
Proven commitment to upholding confidentiality and ethical standards in all HR processes
Proven success in recruiting top talent
Proven success in developing staff
Ability to balance and prioritize multiple ongoing projects from multiple stakeholders
Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
Strong attention to detail
Strong competence in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Experience managing an ATS and LMS
Authorization to work in the United States
Preferred
High level of religious literacy and fluency in diversity, pluralism, and inclusion
Certification in talent management or organizational development (e.g., SHRM-CP, CPTD, or similar)
