Assistant/Associate/Full Instructional Professor

The University of Florida is soliciting applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Engineering Education. The role involves teaching and developing engineering courses while conducting research in support of teaching.

Responsibilities

Teaching, updating, and developing undergraduate and graduate engineering courses, and may include both online and face‐to‐face instruction
Research in support of teaching is expected
In addition, there may be other service and teaching activities at the local, state, and national level, as well as at the university level, as directed by the department chair
Teaching assignments will be made according to background and experience and will be six to eight sections per year based on mutual agreement

Required

PhD in engineering or a closely related discipline
Experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses
Strong understanding of advanced programming areas, including modern machine learning and deep learning methods (e.g., MATLAB and Python)
Expertise in one or more of the following areas: mechanical engineering, electrical & computer engineering, or civil engineering
Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to undergraduate and graduate students
Ability to foster a collaborative learning environment
Ability to remain current with developments in their field
Experience or demonstrated interest in engineering education research
Certification, training, or comparable experience in engineering education research is considered a plus
The selected candidate must provide an official transcript to the hiring department upon hire
Degrees earned outside the United States must be evaluated by a professional credentialing service provider approved by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES)
