International Field Recruiter

The University of Kentucky seeks an International Recruiter to play a key role in the university’s new strategic international recruitment initiative. This role is responsible for increasing the number of qualified undergraduate applicants and supporting the growth of international enrollment on campus.

Responsibilities

Play a key role in the university’s new strategic international recruitment initiative
Increase the number of qualified undergraduate applicants to the university and support the growth of international enrollment on campus
Report to the Director of International Recruitment
Be a member of the University of Kentucky’s International Center (UKIC) team
Responsible for the implementation of international student recruitment efforts
Meet with prospective students and their parents, secondary school counselors, various groups on and off campus, alumni, and other contacts in a variety of venues to promote the opportunities offered at the University of Kentucky
Support undergraduate applications to the University of Kentucky
Establish and nurture relationships that serve as a conduit for international students
Collaborate with other Enrollment Management staff members
Coordinate recruitment and admissions activities
Ensure effective and supportive communication with prospects and applicants
Collaborate with the Office of International Student and Scholar Services to ensure a smooth transition for admitted international students

International travel is required, especially during the fall and spring recruitment seasons
This job will be in travel status for more than 50% of the year. Availability outside Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM is often required as this position works with people in time zones around the globe
Valid driver's license (or ability to obtain a valid driver's license)
Valid passport (or ability to obtain a valid passport)
If the applicant's ability to obtain the necessary visas for international travel required for this position will be restricted due to the passport-issuing country, this factor will be taken into consideration by the university

Preferred

Experience in international student recruitment
Experience working in higher education with students from diverse backgrounds
Ability to engage in extensive international and domestic travel as required by the position. Some evening and weekend work is required
Professional written communication and public speaking skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple competing priorities
Familiarity with computer applications
Ability to speak multiple languages preferred
Experience in sales, communication, business development
