IT Business Continuity Application Analyst

Responsibilities
Act as the primary support owner for assigned applications, coordinating across IT and business teams to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement
Support daily, weekly, monthly, and annual business processes within supported applications
Maintain and revise application configuration settings aligned with business requirements and IT standards
Assist with implementation of new applications, modules, and major upgrades, including testing and validation
Provide senior-level functional and technical support for assigned applications, including ownership of complex incidents and root-cause analysis
Prepare training materials and support business users across Pipeline, Trucking, Rail, Marine Operations, and Refinery Services
Support existing reporting processes and collaborate on new reporting and analytics requirements
Identify opportunities for process improvement and application integration
Assist project manager(s) to facilitate successful delivery of projects
Coordinate with vendors and internal IT teams to resolve issues and plan enhancements
Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned applications, providing guidance on support strategy, recovery readiness, and operational best practices
Ensure application recovery requirements, including RTOs, RPOs, dependencies, and recovery procedures, are documented and maintained
Identify and document upstream and downstream application dependencies that impact recovery sequencing and business operations
Serve as the application-level liaison to Business Continuity and Cyber Resilience teams
Collaborate with various departments within the organization to ensure that disaster recovery and business continuity plans align with overall business objectives and priorities
Identify and address gaps in business processes and controls to achieve compliance with BCDR program objectives
Test and evaluate disaster recovery and business continuity plans on a regular basis to ensure their effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement
Work directly with BCDR System Administrator to plan, test, and execute recovery scenarios as outlined by the Cyber Resilience Manager
Communicate regularly with senior management to provide updates on disaster recovery and business continuity planning efforts
Qualification
Required
7+ years of experience supporting enterprise applications in a multi-user environment
Experience with application implementations, configuration, and major upgrades
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and industry experience
Travel requirements up to 15%
Ability to work effectively with business leaders, technical teams, and vendors
Requires sound judgment to balance competing priorities, manage ambiguity, and drive outcomes in a dynamic operational environment
Ability to work independently or collaboratively based on project needs
Demonstrated understanding of application dependencies across infrastructure, data, and business processes
Strong documentation and organizational skills
Participate in an on-call rotation for supported applications and have flexibility to work overtime when required
In-depth knowledge of designated application(s), including implementation, configuration settings, user functionality, and application administration
Broad understanding of operational business processes in energy, transportation, or industrial environments
Understands the fundamentals of project management methodology
Knowledge of SharePoint configuration and administration, Nintex Automation Cloud and Forms, Power Automate, Microsoft Forms, and M365 Office products
Experience supporting Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery activities
