Ascendo Resources is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Credit Analyst to join a banking institution. This role involves performing in-depth financial analysis, assessing credit risk, and providing recommendations on complex commercial loan requests.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive financial analysis of middle-market and commercial borrowers, including review of financial statements, tax returns, and cash flow projections
Prepare detailed credit memos and underwriting packages with risk assessments and recommendations for approval
Evaluate collateral and perform loan structure analysis to ensure appropriate risk mitigation
Collaborate with relationship managers, loan officers, and portfolio managers on new and existing credit requests
Monitor borrower performance and identify early warning signs of credit deterioration
Assist in portfolio management, including renewals, modifications, and annual reviews
Ensure all analyses comply with internal credit policies and regulatory requirements
Mentor junior analysts by reviewing work, sharing best practices, and providing technical guidance

Required

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CFA a plus

Strong understanding of C&I, CRE, and SBA lending
Proficiency with financial spreading software and Microsoft Excel
Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
