Responsibilities

Oversees the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all simulation equipment, including the flight simulator, high-fidelity patient simulators, task trainers, and related healthcare technologies within CNESI and DEACFN
Supervises simulation operations specialists responsible for equipment upkeep, inventory, and repairs in compliance with manufacturer guidelines and service agreements
Participates in vendor training to ensure optimal functionality of all systems
Provides training and support to faculty, teaching assistants, and students in the use of simulation technologies
Leads the development and implementation of simulation scenarios for undergraduate and graduate programs and coordinate complex interprofessional simulation exercises
Advises faculty and program directors on simulation policies and best practices
Ensures the proper use of all simulation equipment and manage setup for on-site and off-site programs
Negotiates vendor contracts and oversee the standardized patient programs
Represents CNESI and DEACFN at university, school of nursing, and/or national events and meetings as required/requested
Directs audiovisual support, including video recording and editing
Maintains organized records of simulation encounters and stays current with emerging technologies to guide upgrades and improvements
Provides data related to CNESI and DEACFN utilization and simulation encounters to support school and university accreditation requirements
Supervises simulation operations staff and department assistants across CNESI and DEACFN
Oversees the use, implementation, and maintenance of all simulation equipment, including the helicopter flight simulator, high-fidelity simulators, and task trainers
Resolve operational issues, implement changes, and establish standards in compliance with university policies
Provides policy guidance, performance management, and conducts regular team meetings to address updates and operational concerns
Manages scheduling as well as time and attendance of simulation operations and support staff
Identifies training and development opportunities, ensure compliance requirements are met, including compliance with mandatory education set forth by the school and university, and deliver ongoing feedback and annual evaluations
Executes strategic and professional communication for CNESI and DEACFN aligned with organizational goals
Creates and manages content across digital and print platforms, including websites, publications, videos, podcasts, and social media
Collaborate with the Assistant Dean for Simulation and Innovation and University Marketing to produce branded materials such as presentations, newsletters, and promotional content
Serves as liaison to stakeholders to identify target audiences and build partnerships that expand the center's reach
Oversee daily communication operations, including website management and digital presence, ensuring consistency and effectiveness
Monitor marketing channels, provide strategic counsel, and implement improvements to enhance visibility and recognition at local, state, and national levels
Maintains an understanding of the School of Nursing, CNESI and DEACFN’s mission and strategic plans
Collaborates with the Assistant Dean for Simulation and Innovation, CNESI faculty leadership and DEACFN education and research directors to develop and execute strategic plans that advance simulation utilization, growth, and effectiveness
Provides leadership in planning, implementing, and reviewing initiatives to ensure seamless, customer-focused experience from program design through delivery
Represents the CNESI and DEACFN on university committees and at external engagements, promoting available services and resources
Prepares standardized reports on performance metrics, productivity, and personnel, and conducts data analysis with forecasting to identify opportunities and address gaps
Presents findings and recommendations to School of Nursing leadership
Responsible for all aspects of fiscal management including, development and monitoring of the annual operating budget; analyzing budget variances; recommending course of action; and preparing analytical reports
Builds collaborative working relationships with current and prospective academic and industry partners
Develop business plans in collaboration with the Assistant Dean for Simulation and Innovation to reflect the ever-changing needs of the simulation center
Maintains current partners and develop new partnerships internally and externally
Works in tangent with the Assistant Dean for Simulation and Innovation, Associate Dean for Finance and Administration, and other school leadership to develop and maintain revenue generation streams for the simulation center
Identify external business opportunities and devise strategic development plans
Gives tours of the helicopter flight simulation center and the Center for Nursing Education, Simulation, and Innovation to potential students, parents, faculty, and staff
Participates in high fidelity simulation and role play for scenarios as needed for Center for Nursing Education, Simulation, and Innovation and Dorothy Ebersbach Academic Center for Flight Nursing

Required

A Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience in simulation education is required
Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS) certification through the Society for Simulation in Healthcare is required within one year of hire
High degree of energy, creativity, flexibility, organization, and interpersonal skills
Ability to lead and motivate others to meet objectives, goals and customer expectations
Effective and professional verbal and written communications
Project management skills, goal oriented
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and delegate work in order to meet deadlines and objectives
Ability to interact successfully with a variety of constituents
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with individuals from multiple disciplines and at all levels of responsibilities
Ability to work independently and show accountability for meeting deadlines and achieving goals and to facilitate planning processes
Ability to apply appropriate analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills/techniques

Experience in a Microsoft Office environment
Proficiency with MS Excel and Word required
Computer presentation skills (PowerPoint and other presentation programs) required
Sufficient knowledge and experience with databases to effectively manage information systems
Demonstrated history of successful support, education, and advocacy for all students, aligned with the values, mission, and messaging of the university
Ability to interact with colleagues, supervisors, and customers face to face
Ability to meet consistent attendance
Willingness to learn and utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI)
