Responsibilities

Support the DSR wetlands team in conducting field work, data entry, and website content
Conduct annual monitoring tasks for freshwater and coastal wetland systems
Create an accessible ArcGIS StoryMap to highlight wetland land cover and ecosystem benefits
Assist with lake sediment coring, subsampling core intervals for core chronology, diatom analyses, organic pollutants, and preparing diatom slides

Required

Basic knowledge of biological/ecological science
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
Experience using ArcGIS and/or designing storymaps
Ability to spend time outdoors in hot, buggy, and muddy conditions
Authorization to work in the United States per the Department of Homeland Security, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations
Possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position

Preferred

Understanding of common statistical methods
Enrolled at an accredited university/college studying one of the Physical Sciences, Environmental Sciences/Studies, Chemical Sciences, Biological Sciences; or in Civil Engineering, Sanitary Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Mining Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Bio-resource Engineering
