Senior LevelE78 Talent is supporting a private equity–backed services company in need of an Interim Controller to lead critical financial operations. This hands-on role requires an experienced Controller to stabilize the close and manage financial reporting and audit requirements in a lean environment.

Responsibilities
Lead the month-end close, including transition from modified cash/accrual to full accrual accounting
Manage percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting and supporting schedules
Review and maintain balance sheet reconciliations to ensure audit-ready accuracy
Perform detailed P&L reviews, including capitalization and normalization of addbacks
Support opening balance sheet, interim, and year-end audits, including transitioning open items
Own the process of generating the monthly financial package, transitioning reporting from ERP to Excel
Operate as a hands-on finance leader in a resource-constrained environment
Qualification
Required
Proven Controller-level experience in service or project-based companies
Strong background in private equity–backed environments
Deep understanding of POC accounting and accrual-based financials
Comfortable managing audits and complex accounting transitions
Willingness to get into the details while maintaining executive-level judgment
