Battery Algorithms & Controls Design Intern
Aeravox Dynamics is seeking a highly motivated Battery Algorithms Intern to join their Battery Algorithms team. This role involves contributing to the development of advanced battery management features for mass-market electric vehicles and energy products while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance battery safety and performance.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with a dynamic, cross-functional team to develop and improve advanced battery management algorithms
Analyze laboratory and fleet data to support algorithm development and quality assessment
Design and refine real-time battery controls to ensure safety, performance, and reliability
Contribute to battery software used in production vehicle and energy systems
Partner with controls, battery cell, embedded software, systems engineering, and vehicle integration teams to define requirements and support integration testing
Assist the Battery Software team with additional tasks as needed
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD program at an accredited university (proof of enrollment required)
Field of study in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline
Strong knowledge of battery chemistries (e.g., LFP, NMC)
Understanding of battery management systems (BMS) and EV powertrains
Experience with battery controls, algorithms, and modeling
Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and C/C++
Knowledge of electrochemistry and battery modeling
Preferred
Familiarity with vehicle control systems such as motors, onboard chargers, and thermal systems
