Senior Donor Relations Officer

As the Senior Donor Relations Officer, you will manage and grow a portfolio of individual and institutional donors, lead fundraising strategies, and strengthen donor relationships to maximize impact.

Responsibilities
Grow annual giving within the assigned donor portfolio and region in alignment with fundraising goals
Manage a portfolio of individual, corporate, and foundation donors, overseeing identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
Drive donor engagement through structured moves management, leveraging executive leadership and organizational networks
Cultivate and steward supporters to secure new and renewed major gifts of $5,000+
Develop and implement multi-year cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans aligned with donor interests and organizational needs
Research and qualify prospective donors and design targeted engagement strategies
Plan and execute regional development strategies, including donor outreach, events, and program-site visits, to maximize ROI
Strengthen regional relationships by serving as a trusted ambassador of the organization’s mission
Travel within the region to conduct donor and prospect visits across all stages of engagement
Recruit and manage a local advisory board to advance fundraising and regional growth
Coordinate donor trips to program sites with clear engagement and fundraising objectives
Lead and mentor the Donor Relations Manager, supporting professional growth and strategic impact
Maintain accurate, timely donor records and activity reports in the CRM
Manage volunteers supporting donor engagement efforts, as appropriate
Attend organizational events
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required
5+ years of successful nonprofit fundraising experience, including major gifts and portfolio management
Proven track record of securing leadership-level gifts
Demonstrated ability to drive innovation, growth, and effective fundraising strategies
Strong collaborator with the ability to translate strategy into results
Excellent relationship-building, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to inspire, influence, and engage donors and volunteers
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
Proven leadership and people-management skills that empower staff and foster collaboration
Professional discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information
High energy and passion for the organization's mission
Willingness and ability to travel locally and internationally
Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation required
Preferred
