Quality Assurance Specialist
ECCO Safety Group is a company focused on quality assurance in manufacturing. They are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to inspect materials and goods, ensuring they meet quality standards and conformity, while also maintaining inspection records and databases.

Responsibilities
Inspect electrical components, sub-assemblies, hardware, mechanical assemblies and finished goods products for proper identification and conformance to specifications
Perform tests on various assemblies and finished good products as required
Accurately read and interpret work instructions, drawings, schematics and Bill of Materials (BOM)
Identify product specific attributes, inspection tools/gauging, and inspection methods
Operate various test and measurement equipment including calipers, multimeters, power supplies and other specialty equipment
Identify discrepant parts and assemblies and work to identify and implement corrective action
Provide guidance on specialized inspection requirements of parts and assist in setting appropriate inspection rates or sampling plans as directed
Coordinate the identification and segregation of defective or questionable materials
Escalate conformity or quality concerns as appropriate to various departments as required
May perform process and layered process audits to ensure conformity to appropriate business practices and recommend continuous improvement actions
Proficiently and accurately perform material transactions as required to include material movements and backflush transactions to include multi-level BOMs
Provide written communication and reporting associated with the inspection and test status of products including first article, nonconforming material trends, and other reports as directed
Effectively communicate with various departments; may include attending meetings or working directly with technicians, engineers and administrative functions
Perform assigned tasks at an effective pace, promptly and efficiently
Promote and adhere to safe work practices and ensure a clean and organized work area
Adhere to all Company policies and procedures
Maintain confidentiality in accordance with established policies and procedure
Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned to support Company goals
Maintain and update quality databases related to inspections, nonconforming material, corrective actions, and audit results
Compile inspection and quality data from multiple sources and prepare summary reports for the Quality Manager
Utilize Microsoft Excel to organize, analyze, and present quality data, including use of formulas, pivot tables, and charts
Support tracking and reporting of first article inspections, defect trends, supplier performance, and corrective action status
Create, update, and maintain quality documentation such as SOPs, work instructions, inspection plans, and forms
Support document control activities including version control and record retention
Support quality improvement initiatives and assigned special projects
Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities
Communicate quality findings with Operations, Engineering, and other departments as needed
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 2-year(s) experience in an electronic manufacturing environment or a combination of technical education or applicable work experience
Working knowledge and understanding of statistical analysis, sampling plans, and Statistical Process Controls (SPC)
Knowledge and certification to IPC-A-610 or IPC-J-STD-001
Understanding of requirements related to IPC/WHMA-A-620 acceptance criteria for cable and wire harness assemblies
Understanding of requirements related to IPC-A-600 acceptance criteria for printed circuit board assemblies
Ability to identify and understand basic functionality of electronic components
Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Excel
Ability to balance hands on inspection work with project based responsibilities
Preferred
Experience maintaining documentation or supporting quality systems preferred
Quality Control: 1 year (Preferred)
Microsoft Office: 1 year (Preferred)
