Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Engineer

Trinity Consultants Engineering & EHS Workforce Solutions is seeking a Facilities MEP Engineer for a project-based role at a biotech client site in the greater Boston area. The engineer will be responsible for the design, installation, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and architectural systems, as well as managing capital improvement projects and maintaining effective working relationships with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the design, installation and troubleshooting of building mechanical, electrical and architectural systems
Responsible for reviewing engineering, design and construction of projects
Responsible for managing capital improvement projects, reviews design plans, specifications, cost estimates, and schedules
Responsible for analyzing, confirming, and modifying project scope, budgets and schedules
Responsible for management and tracking of outside projects and facility operations
Develops and maintains various databases, architectural standards, engineering guidelines and specifications
Synthesizes interdependent elements, develops strategies, recommends alternatives, and implements action plans for routine and unanticipated projects and studies
Operates and maintains Building Management Systems
Provides Subject Matter Expertise to MassBiologics for Mechanical, Electrical and Utility design, operation and maintenance
Participates in developing departmental goals
Participates in development of, recommends and implements departmental operating policies, systems and procedures
Participates in the development of, and recommends safety policies, procedures, manuals and training programs
Prepares Standard Operating Procedures, Change Controls and Incident/Deviation Reports when required
Maintains effective working relationship with associates, departmental heads, administrators, and the general staff
Keeps abreast of current trends and developments in the field
Serve as the clerk of the works

Required

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering
Minimum of 5 years experience as a Facilities Engineer, including seven years experience in Project Management activities
Thorough knowledge of building design process, mechanical/electrical systems, construction methods and materials
Ability to analyze, design, test and troubleshoot building mechanical and electrical systems, including but not limited to electrical distribution, controls, HVAC and piping
Working knowledge of building codes/standards and environmental and safety regulations, including but not limited to National Electrical Code, Massachusetts State Building Code, ASHRAE, NFPA and OSHA
Ability to present information verbally in a clear and concise manner and to produce legible and meaningful written communications necessary to interact with Campus and contract personnel workers
Ability to produce working drawings and maintain building drawing database using AutoCAD 14 or higher
Dexterity, visual acuity

Preferred

Experience with the administration and programming of a computerized Building Management System is highly desirable
Evidence of formal AutoCAD training is highly desirable
