Responsibilities
Management of IYF global projects in a flexible and participatory manner, with a facilitative approach, while retaining strong focus on results and programme implementation
Oversight and management of programme planning, and implementation with emphasis on achievement of IYF goals and targets
Coordination and supervision of administrative, monitoring and evaluation, financial, and programmatic management of IYF Global Programme aspects in accordance with IYF rules, policies and procedures
Support to the preparation of aggregate reports and ensure they are regularly prepared on activities, outputs and outcomes; and
Together with implementing partners and other stakeholders, regularly identify challenges and provide recommendations to mitigate project risks and ensure smooth project implementation
Oversee IYF’s commitments within the corporate agreements with the Global Fund, ensures effective application of RBM tools, monitors unit work plans, programme effectiveness and achievement of results
Maintaining regular contact with Programme counterparts and key stakeholders
Recruitment, performance and career management and supervision of BPS staff (including outposted staff) to motivate and promote organizational excellence; and
Promoting cross-unit teamwork, building consensus within the BPS on key challenges and solutions to address them
Maintain high level strategic partnerships and ensures close cooperation between the IYF and the responsible implementing partners to ensure effective implementation of the agreed activities and delivery of outputs in a timely manner
Lead partnership development on behalf of IYF to develop time-bound and strategic approaches to develop capacity
Leads communication efforts by identifying strategic opportunities to highlight programme achievements and appropriate modalities; and
Develop and implement partnerships and resources mobilization strategies to achieve programme outcomes
Qualification
Required
Advanced English skills are required
5+ years' experience managing programmes or projects for NGOs, INGOs, charities, or international development organizations is essential
Experience working on projects or programmes relating to education, capacity building or training is essential
Preferred
Experience working within the United Nations (or affiliate) or USAID is highly advantageous but not essential
