Product Engineer
TAD PGS, Inc. is seeking a Product Engineer to join their team in Fenton, MO. The primary function of this position is to provide leadership for new product design and development, while also supporting current production lines and collaborating with various departments to enhance product quality and cost efficiency.
Responsibilities
Support designs from concept development through product commercialization
Meet defined product performance and cost targets while demonstrating superior reliability and manufacturability
Conceive ideas and plans of action to solve mechanical problems
Develop the solutions using CAD and communication with 3D modelers
Present ideas through design reviews and drawing sign-offs
Validate designs through lab testing and end-user review
Interfaces with Sales, Manufacturing, Quality, and Purchasing to provide strategic direction to grow, develop, and improve our products and customer base
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
Experience leading mechanical engineering projects, including defining requirements, developing concepts and detailed designs, qualifying the product through analysis and test, and supporting the design transfer to manufacturing
Experience with metal manufacturing processes, including machining and assembly
Experience with design software, including but not limited to: SolidWorks, Auto CAD, and Labview
Good oral and written communication skills are required
Good organizational abilities and attention to detail
Ability to support efforts for continuous improvements in process efficiency and cost reduction
Demonstrated technical leadership capability and project management skills
Self-starter, energizing, results-oriented, and able to multitask
Excellent cross-functional teamwork, coordination, and communication skills
Ability to meet aggressive reliability, performance, cost, serviceability, and delivery targets
Preferred
Experience in flow control product design and manufacturing is preferred but not required
Knowledge of APQP, Lean Manufacturing, Design for Manufacturing, and 8D Corrective Actions is preferred but not required
Electromechanical design knowledge
Team player with strategic focus
Be able to multitask several assignments
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Results-oriented with a high commitment level
Develops and manages priorities to ensure the timely completion of projects
