Responsibilities
Lead and support statewide oral health programs that integrate prevention and care across healthcare and community systems
Serves as subject matter expert in dental hygiene, oral disease prevention, fluoride use, and oral health integration
Assists in developing policies, procedures, and annual strategies that address that address the needs of diverse and underserved populations
Plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate oral health programs and sub-grant initiatives to ensure quality and impact
Provide technical assistance, consultation, and quality improvement support to funded partners, schools and communities
Coordinate grant activities including proposal development, reviews, recommendations, reporting, and compliance tracking
Analyze program data, expenditures, and population health indicators to support program planning and evaluation
Collaborate with state agencies, healthcare organizations, community partners, and national associations as a liaison and advisor
Develop training materials, reports, presentations, and consumer-focused resources for both professional and public audiences
Represent the program at state and national conferences, workgroups, and community events
Qualification
Required
60 mos. trg. or 60 mos. exp. in dental hygiene, education or public/community health AND license to practice dental hygiene in Ohio pursuant to Chapter 4715.21 of Revised Code
OR Associate core program in dental hygiene, education, or health-related field AND 42 mos. trg. or 42 mos. exp. in public/community health AND license to practice dental hygiene in Ohio pursuant to Chapter 4715.21 of Revised Code
OR Undergraduate core program in dental hygiene, education, or health-related field AND 36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in public/community health AND license to practice dental hygiene in Ohio pursuant to Chapter 4715.21 of Revised Code
OR Graduate core program in dental hygiene, education, or health-related field AND 24 mos. trg. or 24 mos. exp. in public/community health AND license to practice dental hygiene in Ohio pursuant to Chapter 4715.21 of Revised Code
Or Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment
Preferred
Bachelor's or advanced degree in dental hygiene, education or health-related field
Experience working with computer software (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Experience planning and implementing oral health programs
Experience responding to questions or concerns from providers or staff, government officials and/or the public/external stakeholders about oral health programs
Experience working in collaboration with other programs/agencies and/or organizations to develop and implement programs
Experience in researching and evaluating scientific literature on oral disease prevention
Experience in writing standards, guidelines or best practices for oral health programs
Experience in writing reports that synthesize information into descriptions and/or recommendations for action
Experience in conducting needs assessments, including collecting data
Experience in managing grants
Experience in developing and presenting trainings
