Telecommunication-Unified Technician

Quoris is seeking an experienced Unified Communications / Telecom Engineer to provide advanced support and operational oversight for enterprise telecommunications and clinical communication systems. This role involves ensuring high availability and reliability of mission-critical voice and messaging technologies in a healthcare environment while collaborating with clinical and IT teams.

Responsibilities

Provide Tier 2/3 support for Avaya Communication Manager (v10.1/10.2) and related VoIP infrastructure, including SBCs, voicemail systems, and call routing
Support and integrate unified communications tools including Oracle Cerner CareAware Connect, TigerConnect, Microsoft Teams (voice, chat, meetings), iOS devices, and Spectralink wireless handsets
Coordinate MAC (Moves, Adds, Changes) requests and troubleshoot system-wide telecom issues
Train end users on phone systems, voicemail trees, and unified communications features
Maintain telecom asset inventories, system documentation, backup schedules, and change management records
Assist with telecom-related projects including facility expansions, system upgrades, and infrastructure improvements
Collaborate with clinical and IT teams to support communication workflows, on-call scheduling, and smart device provisioning
Manage carrier data circuits and maintain fiber and copper backbone documentation
Support and test emergency communication systems including Code Blue, overhead paging, emergency notification, and power-failure redundancy
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Joint Commission standards, and National Patient Safety Goals related to communication technologies
Support configuration, maintenance, and administration of Oracle Cerner CareAware Connect and CareAware Administrator modules
Assist with administration and integration of Oracle Cerner iCommand systems to support centralized monitoring and remote operations

Required

Associate's degree in a related field required (or equivalent experience)
Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting enterprise telecommunications and unified communications systems
Strong knowledge of Avaya systems, SIP, VoIP, call flow design, and QoS principles
Experience supporting TigerConnect and Oracle Cerner CareAware Connect required
Experience with mobile and wireless device deployment (iOS, Android, Spectralink)
Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills
Ability to analyze, document, and improve clinical and operational communication workflows

Preferred

Bachelor's degree preferred
Avaya ACIS or ACSS certification preferred
ITIL Foundation or equivalent service management training preferred
