Responsibilities
Develop, enhance, and maintain Drupal 10 websites and applications, including custom modules, themes, and configuration management
Implement and integrate CKAN/DKAN components to support open data portals and data-powered digital products
Apply best practices in PHP, Twig, JavaScript/jQuery, HTML/CSS, and the LAMP environment
Manage source control using Git and participate in structured code reviews
Utilize Drush, Composer, and Linux command-line tools for development, deployment, and platform administration
Troubleshoot and optimize performance, including MySQL query analysis, frontend performance, and debugging with xdebug
Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle: requirements gathering, architectural design, sprint planning, implementation, and testing
Contribute to configuring and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for Drupal deployments
Collaborate effectively with project managers, designers, analysts, and researchers to deliver high-quality technical solutions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
3–5 years of professional web development experience with substantial work in Drupal 8–10
Hands-on experience deploying, customizing, and integrating CKAN and/or DKAN platforms
Strong proficiency in: PHP, Twig, JavaScript/jQuery, HTML/CSS
LAMP stack
Git source control
Drush and Composer
Experience working in Linux environments and strong command-line skills
Familiarity with debugging tools, performance optimization, and MySQL query analysis
Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Experience configuring and supporting CI/CD pipelines for Drupal
Proficiency with Drupal configuration management
Preferred
Experience creating custom Drupal modules
Strong background in relational databases and query optimization
Familiarity with AJAX, JSON, XML, and RESTful web services
Experience scaling Drupal for high-traffic or data‑intensive applications
Knowledge of WCAG 2.x accessibility standards
Previous experience supporting research, public sector, or consulting environments
