Insider Threat Student Assistant-Research Security-Spring 2026
The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is a nonprofit research division of the Georgia Institute of Technology, dedicated to solving complex problems for government and industry. They are seeking an Insider Threat Student Assistant to assist in operations protecting against unauthorized activities and supporting investigative techniques related to insider threats.

Responsibilities
Assist the Insider Threat Program Senior Official (ITPSO) and assigned Insider Threat Program (ITP) Analysts in operations to protect against unauthorized activities
Assist ITP Analyst in monitoring systems, networks, and logs for suspicious behavior or indicators of potential or actual insider threats
Support ITP Analysts with investigative techniques such as organizing case files and maintaining confidentiality
Assist in the development of ITP awareness materials, presentation, and workshops for employees
Organize and update insider threat policies, procedures, training guides, and operational documentation
Assist in the evaluation of potential vulnerabilities within the institute through observation and insights from behavioral analytic tools and identify proactive measures to minimize risk
Assist in identifying emerging insider threat tools, detection techniques, and incidents in the field
Other duties assigned
Qualification
Required
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Criminal Justice, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity or related Major
Must be registered for at least 6 credit hours with your university
3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
U.S. Citizenship Requirements: Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens
Clearance Type Required: Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance
Preferred
Knowledge or experience with insider threat risk indicators
Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
Understanding of Privacy, Ethics, and Compliance Frameworks
Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas
