Responsibilities
Serve as the subject matter expert, responsible for managing, optimizing, and ensuring the stability of PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, and cloud-native databases like DynamoDB
Collaborate closely with Systems Engineers, Developers, and Architects to design, implement and scale database engines that power the BILL suite of applications
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
8+ years in database administration (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL) with strong skills in optimization, security, and access control, including 3+ years managing databases on AWS
Proficient in Python
Expert in IaC with Terraform and GitLab, applying an SDLC approach to infrastructure
Advanced experience with replication tools like GoldenGate or Debezium
Solid SQL skills and experience in complex query optimization
Experience with monitoring and alerting tools like Foglight, DataDog, Splunk, and CloudWatch for real-time performance monitoring and issue resolution
Preferred
Experience with NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB and MongoDB is desired
Major plus AWS certified Database - Specialty and Terraform certification
