Preparedness Specialist
USAJOBS is seeking a Preparedness Specialist for the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard. Responsibilities
Develop, and complete equipment standardization, tracking, purchasing, and recapitalization
Develop oil spill and hazardous substance response equipment support plans
Review and analyze information on oil and hazardous substance response equipment
Participate in new equipment acquisition and recapitalization of current equipment inventory
Develop and facilitate responder training and exercise curriculam
Provide strategic guidance for spill response logistics and contingency planning
Qualification
Required
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be registered or exempt from the Selective Service
A one-year probationary period may be required

Selectee must be able to obtain/maintain a valid state driver's license

Requires obtaining and maintaining a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) qualification
To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal sector
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work
Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis: Coordinating or developing equipment tracking, purchasing, and recapitalization; Reviewing oil spill and hazardous substance response equipment types; Developing oil spill and hazardous substance response equipment support plans
