Seasonal Park Ranger Assistant
NEOGOV is looking for a Seasonal Park Ranger Assistant to work at the Lake Piru Recreation Area. The role primarily focuses on guest relations, including registering visitors, managing transactions, and assisting with park operations while ensuring a positive experience for guests.

Responsibilities
Register campers and day use visitors and collect fees in the form of cash and credit card transactions
Work in the LPRA retail store selling items and restocking inventory
Answer phone calls to make camping reservations and address questions about the LPRA
Complete all paperwork when watercraft enter the LPRA
Inspect and perform light maintenance on all watercraft exiting the LPRA
Accurately count and enter data on all boat inspections into the online database
May assist Park Rangers in responding to emergencies: perform traffic control, direct Emergency Medical Personnel to an incident, assist in rendering first aid, or serving as a deck hand on a District patrol vessel
Perform minor maintenance or cleaning duties to maximize the experience of LPRA guests
Qualification
Required
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Possess and maintain a valid California Class C drivers' license
Basic arithmetic, U.S. currency transactions, and record keeping methods
Standard written English sufficient to read and understand written instructions, manuals and procedures, and prepare routine reports
Customer service skills
Comfortably operate a personal or tablet computer and navigate internet websites
Learn and apply the principles and practices of aquatic invasive species inspection and decontamination measures
Plan, organize and prioritize work assignments
Promote a positive and productive work environment
Ability to use good judgment and solve problems independently
Operate a two-way radio
Respond calmly and appropriately to emergency situations
Work independently and as part of a team
Follow written and verbal instructions
Mobility: Job tasks are varied and require standing, walking, sitting, climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling and crouching
Lifting: occasional lifting up to 40 pounds
Vision: constant use of overall vision, including near vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus
Hearing/Talking: frequent hearing and talking, in person and on the phone
Environmental: exposure to moderate noise levels but hearing protection must be worn in certain areas
Preferred
Ability to speak Spanish is highly desirable
