Quality Inspector

Responsibilities
Perform assigned inspection functions in accordance with the prescribed standards of airworthiness and serviceability
Familiarity with the applicable 14CFR 145 regulations and with the inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used to determine the airworthiness
Responsible for the surveillance of all work in progress
Ensure that the maintenance record entry required by 43.9 or 43.11, as appropriate, is completed, accept or reject work accomplished for all items generated on the inspection forms
Perform receiving inspection of new or used parts intended for use on articles
Verify calibrated tooling used is current
Brief technicians on quality issues and ensure the maintenance personnel perform quality work
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Chief Inspector
This is a safety sensitive position and is subject to pre-employment and periodic DOT regulations for drug and alcohol testing
Qualification
Required
High school diploma/GED, with two years as an QA/QC inspector in a Part 145 organization, knowledge of 8130-3 & COC certification
2-5 years of performing inspections and experienced In-Process Inspections in MRO environment
Experienced in interpreting technical data, service bulletins (SBs), Airworthiness Directives (ADs) and military Technical Orders (TOs)
Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100 or AS9110 standards
Ability to perform internal audits and understanding of root cause/correction action analysis (RCCA) methodologies is a plus
Certificated under 14 CFR Part 65, A&P License required and must be current as required by 14 CFR Part 65.83
Knowledge of and the ability to operate various test equipment
Excellent verbal, writing, listening and interpersonal skills to interact with all functional levels of internal contacts
Detail orientated and organized
Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word and Excel)
Willing to work additional hours when operational objectives require it
Strong analytical and decision-making skills with ability to exercise informed risk taking in order to make judgment calls
Ability to prioritize and to work without close supervision
Must be multi-task/project oriented with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced industry meeting established timelines
Must be able to use/understand Technical Publications, ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings
Proficient in using the various types of inspection equipment and visual inspection aids is required
Proficient in Quality Control Administrative duties such as performing Internal audits
Due to regulatory requirements of International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
