Intermediate Technician, Inspection

They are seeking an entry-level technician to support track inspection activities through Right-of-Way Protection duties, ensuring the safety of personnel working near active rail tracks.

Responsibilities
Perform Right-of-Way Protection (RWP) in support of track inspection crews
Establish and maintain safe work zones in accordance with agency rules and procedures
Communicate clearly with inspectors, supervisors, and operations personnel
Maintain constant situational awareness of train movements and work activities
Use approved warning devices, flags, radios, and other safety equipment
Follow all safety rules, operating procedures, and instructions from supervision
Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or near-misses immediately
Assist with basic documentation related to inspections and safety activities
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required
Ability to follow instructions and safety rules precisely
Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods
Reliable attendance and punctuality
Ability to communicate effectively in English
Ability to walk 7 miles on ballast and uneven surfaces
Ability to lift to 50 lbs. as needed
Ability to work near moving trains and equipment while maintaining focus and awareness
Preferred
Interest in railroad, transit, or construction-related work
Prior safety, construction, or field work experience
Familiarity with radios or safety protocols
