Responsibilities
Initiates and coordinates pre-certification and prior authorization for customers with their insurance carrier
Provides financial counseling to customers
Works closely with the business office
Provides guidance to those customers who may qualify for assistance through state, county, federal programs, foundational grants and replacement drug services
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED required
2 years of related experience and/or training, including customer services and medical billing or equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge of medical terminology
Knowledge of public and private health insurance
Preferred
Associate's or Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
Medical reimbursement experience preferred
Verification of insurance benefits experience preferred
Prior authorization processing experience preferred
Public and manufacture experience medication assistance program experience preferred
Coding experience preferred
Preferred experience includes prior authorization experience OR dispensing exposure. Medical assistant, pharmacy technician, or previous PBM (pharmacy benefits management) experience
