Responsibilities
Perform general cost accounting and other related duties
Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements, including review of prepaid and accrued transactions
Maintain the general ledger
Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close the monthly books
Reconcile bank accounts, verify deposits, and address inquiries from banks
Reconcile cash, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts intercompany
Verify payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts
Provide outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit
File tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies
Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting
At least 2 years of successful experience in public or corporate accounting performing most of the above duties
Knowledge and experience in accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.)
Working knowledge of MS Office (especially excel)
Experience with accounting ERP systems and accounting software (e.g. Produce Pro)
Well-organized with ability to prioritize
Very good communication and interpersonal skills
Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Understanding of data analysis and forecasting, including proficiency in excel and related tools
Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations
