Assistant Research Professor
New Jersey Institute of Technology is seeking an Assistant Research Professor in its Helio Physics Center. The role involves providing leadership in helioseismology and solar-interior dynamics, executing NASA-funded programs, and advancing research capabilities through publications and proposals.

Responsibilities
Execute and extend the NASA-funded program on solar inertial waves and their implications for interior physics
Maintain and advance helioseismic analysis capabilities (including normal-mode coupling and time-distance inference workflows) that are strategic to the Center
Translate these capabilities into a sustained stream of peer-reviewed publications and new proposals
Strengthen student training in data-intensive heliophysics aligned with NJIT’s research mission
Qualification
Required
PhD in physics
Substantial experience in helioseismic data analysis and modeling
At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position
Preferred
Experience in solar/space physics, space mission data analysis, supercomputer modeling
