Responsibilities

Support hands-on technical, operational, and applied engineering projects at an assigned DoD test range
Assist with installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and operation of equipment, systems, or facilities
Apply classroom instruction and technical training to real-world defense and test operations environments
Support data collection, system validation, prototyping, fabrication, or range operations, depending on placement
Collaborate with mentors, technicians, engineers, and fellow interns to support mission execution
Present technical work and lessons learned at the program closeout symposium

Required

Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship and a background investigation
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Enrolled in an accredited technical associate degree or certificate program, such as: Mechatronics, Applied or Advanced Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical Technology, Electronics or Electrical Technology, Information Technology, Instrumentation, Automation, or similar applied technical disciplines
Strong hands-on aptitude, problem-solving ability, and willingness to learn
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, operational environment

Preferred

Prior hands-on experience through labs, projects, internships, apprenticeships, or technical coursework
Familiarity with tools, equipment, instrumentation, fabrication methods, or technical systems relevant to the discipline
Basic understanding of technical documentation, schematics, or system procedures
Demonstrated interest in defense, aerospace, test operations, or national security missions
