IT Specialist (CUSTSPT)
DLA Careers is seeking an IT Specialist (CUSTSPT) to provide technical and analytical IT support. The role involves customer support, maintaining problem tracking databases, coordinating system assessments, and providing user training on PC hardware and software operations.

Responsibilities
Provides technical and analytical IT support that involves providing customer support in response to customer requests
Reviews and maintains problem tracking and resolution databases
Assess system shutdowns/software defects and coordinates with IT management to recommend replacement/modification/other action and safeguard existing systems
Coordinates with other IT Specialists to improve and confirm the quality of existing/proposed software
Provides user training on PC hardware and software operations via telephone, email, remote access, and through on-site customer visits

To qualify based on education in lieu of specialized experience, applicants must possess: GS-11: A Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related
One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position
To qualify at the GS-11 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector
Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement
Creditable specialized experience includes: Assists other IT Specialists in the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, surveillance and maintenance of a variety of hardware and software and integrates a wide range of Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) software packages (i.e., Windows 10)
Develops, installs and troubleshoots customer hardware and software issues
Isolates and analyzes technical IT data, develops findings, and presents and defends conclusions and recommendations involving/affecting a variety of hardware, software and automated information
Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the GS-11 grade level
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social)
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience

One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours that your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study
If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study
If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university
