Research Support Specialist
The National Marine Sanctuary Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting America's marine environments. They are seeking a Research Support Specialist responsible for supporting scientific research activities at the Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary, including planning and executing research operations and analyzing scientific data.
Public Policy
Responsibilities
Assisting with planning and executing scientific research operations
Developing and editing scientific expedition and annual scientific reports
Organizing and analyzing scientific data
Facilitating collaboration with scientific partners
Planning and executing the annual Gray's Reef Scientific Symposium
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
A degree in marine science or related field. (e.g., Biology, Biochemistry, Social Science)
Solid understanding of scientific principles and program management
Previous experience in a laboratory or research environment
Proficiency in data analysis
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong analytical skills
Regular attendance required
Preferred
Background in South Atlantic marine organisms and/or habitats
Use of the full MS Office Suite including MS Word, and Excel
Use of the full Google Suite including Docs and Sheets
Experience in field and vessel research operations
