Required

Thorough knowledge of North Carolina General Statutes governing the Register of Deeds office
General knowledge of standard office methods and procedures, business English, spelling, and arithmetic
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, and OneDrive)
Ability to effectively use email, virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom), and cloud-based collaboration tools
Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting office technology, including scanners, printers, and data entry systems
Knowledge of the rules, practices, and procedures of the Register of Deeds office and document indexing systems
Ability to make independent decisions regarding assigned duties while ensuring compliance with laws and policies
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact professionally with colleagues, government officials, and the public
Ability to multitask and work with high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public
High School Diploma or equivalent from an appropriately accredited institution
Must possess and maintain a valid North Carolina Driver's License

Preferred

Experience in clerical work, document management, public service, or legal records administration preferred
Prior experience working with Microsoft Office, data entry systems, and online government portals is an advantage
