School Secretary
NOLA Public Schools is dedicated to providing a high-quality education for every student. The School Secretary plays a vital role in supporting the school's leadership team by managing office tasks, handling communications, and assisting with various administrative functions to maintain an organized and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities
Provides customer service to teachers, parents, students, and outside agencies by communicating school related information verbally or in writing
Maintains the school’s regular filing system for student, personnel, and school business records
Performs bookkeeping tasks associated with the school's system of management
Compiles and maintains routine officer reports
Schedules and arranges appointments for school related business
Uses the school district’s purchasing process to requisition supplies and equipment
Assists School Director with management of the receiving process and submission of required documents to relevant central office staff
Operates office equipment and uses Microsoft Office Word, EXCEL, and PowerPoint to prepare various types of communications
Organizes office, schedules work as necessary
Obtains, organizes, and distributes student records using the assigned student information system
May be required to work odd hours depending upon workload demand
Perform other related duties as required
Qualification
Required
High school diploma required
Proven experience in administrative support, preferably in an educational setting
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
Proficient in office software
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, staff, and outside agencies
The ability to keep concise records and handle sensitive information with discretion
The ability to work with a diversity of individuals and groups
The ability to adapt to changing work priorities and maintain flexible working hours
Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.) part of the workday
Required to exert physical effort in handling objects more than 30 pounds rarely
Required to be exposed to physical occupational risks (such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals) rarely
Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements rarely
Normal setting for this job is an office/school setting
