The City of Delray Beach is seeking a Finance Intern to assist with Accounting, Budget, and Treasury projects. The intern will work closely with the Finance Department Team to complete assigned projects and acquire knowledge of the City's Finance Department functions.

Responsibilities

Work with mentor to set development goals to satisfy college internship requirements
Research and complete assigned projects in a timely manner by working closely with the Finance Department Team
Benchmark accounting and finance procedures by accessing related websites and contacting other municipalities and counties
Apply financial and accounting skills to identify and streamline required repetitive procedures, as well as testing of internal controls
Acquire knowledge of City Finance Department functions
Assist with other Finance projects as needed

Required

Current college student or recent graduate majoring in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
Strong accounting and/or finance skills
Organizational, oral and written communication skills
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City employees and citizens
Be detailed oriented with problem solving skills
Computer skills: Microsoft Office 2010 and Internet research
