Industrial Manufacturing Engineer
Meador Staffing Services is seeking an On-site Engineer responsible for the deployment and technical support of smart electric tightening systems at their Houston facility. The role involves installation, calibration, and support during mass production, ensuring effective communication between the local production team and headquarters engineering group.

Responsibilities
Specification Verification: Work closely with Industrial Engineering (IE) to confirm the correct electric screwdriver models and technical requirements for each workstation
Layout Planning: Coordinate with IE to finalize equipment layout, including controller placement and optimized routing for power, 3-way, and network cabling
System Setup: Install and configure host computer software, drivers, and required peripheral systems
Parameter Configuration: Import and configure workstation-specific parameters, including station name, HIVE, shopfloor paths, TCM, torque settings, screw counts, and other client-defined requirements
Validation: Perform precision torque calibration using torque meters. Conduct CPK studies (typically 32 data points per group) to verify process capability meets client standards
Routine Inspection: Perform daily system health checks, including system status, performance metrics, and log file analysis, to proactively identify and prevent issues
Global Technical Coordination: Maintain effective communication with the China-based technical team, managing a 12-hour time difference to ensure timely issue resolution
First Response: Provide immediate on-site diagnostics and troubleshooting for system alarms or technical failures
Emergency Repair: Rapidly resolve hardware or software issues to restore production. Escalate unresolved or complex issues to headquarters without delay
Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Conduct in-depth analysis of recurring issues and implement long-term corrective actions
Training: Provide technical training to client operators and maintenance personnel when authorized
Change Control: Strictly follow change management procedures. No parameter changes are permitted without written approval or traceable instructions from Client A or Company HQ
Internal Communication: Serve as the primary on-site liaison, accurately communicating field requirements and complex technical issues to the headquarters engineering team for advanced support
External Coordination: Work with IT department to address infrastructure-related issues, including network connectivity and server access
Qualification
Required
Degree or certification in Automation, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Experience in a manufacturing or assembly plant environment
Working knowledge of PLC logic
Working knowledge of torque tools
Working knowledge of host computer software debugging
Fluency in English
Strong sense of urgency
Excellent problem-solving abilities
Capacity to work independently in a fast-paced, high-pressure production environment
