Applications Engineer
Universal Development & Construction is a company focused on engineering solutions, and they are seeking an Applications Engineer to support customers and improve the quoting process. Responsibilities
Analyze customer parts, prints, and requirements to configure engineering solutions that meet performance and manufacturing needs
Collaborate with engineering, product development, sales, and service teams to ensure accurate product selection and customer satisfaction
Prepare detailed quotes and project evaluations including cycle times, annual volumes, tooling concepts, simulations, and machine specifications
Conduct customer meetings to verify project requirements and present technical solutions
Reverse-engineer customer dies, tooling, or components as needed
Create CAD designs for tooling, machine components, and machine layouts
Support new product development and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualification
Required
2+ years of experience in applications engineering, technical support, or a related role
Proficiency in SolidWorks (SolidWorks PDM experience a plus)
Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts
Proficiency in Microsoft platforms: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field
Experience with CNC systems, automation equipment, or manufacturing processes (tooling, dies, stamping, machining, etc.)
Experience with GD&T, machine simulations, or cost estimating
