Responsibilities
Perform repair, installation, alteration, and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems
Reduce reliance on third-party vendors by maintaining strong in-house HVAC support
Minimize equipment downtime through timely troubleshooting and repairs
Support emergency response efforts for building and system-related issues
Maintain internal team responsiveness to employee maintenance requests
Contribute to a safe, reliable, and well-maintained facility environment
Service and maintain HVAC equipment including, but not limited to:
Air handlers
Exhaust fans
Rooftop package units
Boilers
Chillers
Pumps
Air compressors
HVAC control systems
Perform general building maintenance activities, including but not limited to:
Changing lights and ballasts
Repairing minor plumbing issues
Replacing ceiling tiles
Performing basic facility repairs as needed
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues within buildings
Work collaboratively with team members and share HVAC system knowledge
Utilize building management systems (ALC software experience is a plus)
Travel between close sites by riding with another employee
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED
5+ years of hands-on HVAC experience
Experience working on commercial HVAC systems
Experience with general building maintenance: Changing lights and ballasts, Repairing minor plumbing issues, Replacing ceiling tiles, Performing basic facility repairs as needed
Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
Willingness and ability to perform general building maintenance tasks (not HVAC-only)
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of building management systems
Ability to clearly communicate and share technical knowledge with coworkers
Comfortable responding to emergency and urgent facility issues
Pass Background and drug screening
Preferred
Commercial real estate preferred; biotech experience strongly desired
ALC software experience is a plus
Commercial real estate facilities
Biotech, lab, or regulated environments
Preventive maintenance programs
Working across multiple buildings or sites
HVAC trade school certification (bonus but not required)
