Responsibilities
Oversee plant accounting operations, including supervision of 1–3 accounting staff
Lead and validate physical inventory counts, investigate variances, and manage perpetual inventory reconciliation
Prepare and analyze monthly financial results, forecasts, and operational reports for plant and corporate leadership
Analyze costs, variances, labor, overhead, materials, and manufacturing expenses
Maintain and support standard costs and bills of materials (BOMs)
Review capital expenditures and monthly plant spending for accuracy and control
Support Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and internal control requirements
Participate in daily production meetings and partner with Operations leadership
Ensure compliance with all company, corporate, and legal financial policies and internal controls
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience as a Plant Controller or Cost Manager in a manufacturing environment
Strong background in cost accounting, inventory control, and variance analysis
Prior experience supervising accounting staff
Advanced Excel and financial reporting skills
Experience with JD Edwards (JDE)
Bachelor's degree in Accounting; MBA, CPA, or CMA a plus
Ability to work onsite and step in quickly with minimal ramp-up
Preferred
Retired or semi-retired Controller, Certified Cost Accountant or Manufacturing Cost Accountant who enjoys short-term engagements
