Responsibilities

Fosters team and individual development in the Maintenance department
Cultivates relationships by engaging employees on the floor – daily
Leads and oversees all Maintenance work and employee relations
Champions Mana’s culture, plant safety, food safety, and quality efforts
Lead all aspects of Maintenance in a peanut butter processing facility including preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, parts inventory, asset management, equipment installation, contractor work and department’s capital budget
Approach daily responsibilities with a front-line leader mentality
Develop a high-performance team by engaging, coaching and supporting team members, and by pursuing accountability and ownership within teams
Champion safety as the first consideration of all employees/contractors and promotes a safe work environment through own behaviors
Champion food safety as the first consideration when work is performed in the facility to ensure the integrity of our product
Coordinate and oversee work performed by outside contractors / vendors
Provide technical knowledge for processes and equipment to reduce cost / waste and improve production output
Optimize costs through effective budget planning and management and maintain a cost-effective approach toward asset management and minimizing loss and waste
Ensure the Maintenance team is audit ready and participates in regulatory, third party, customer, and internal audits
Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in food manufacturing, food / plant safety, quality and industrial maintenance
Perform other duties assigned within the scope of this role

Required

Experience with food manufacturing equipment, facilities and processes
Demonstrated results in the use of continuous improvement tools to improve safety, quality, and financial performance
Strong computer skills including experience with CMMS and Microsoft Office
Proven leadership and team-building skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to think critically and solve complex problems, as well as seek proactive solutions
Ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, and maintain high attention to detail
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Knowledge of regulations and best practices in food safety – FDA, GDA, FSMA, GFSI and GMP's
Five years of management responsibility in food manufacturing
Prefer at least 10 years of progressive responsibility in industrial maintenance
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Prolonged periods of standing and walking in production environments
Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times
Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities

Preferred

Prefer a bachelor's degree in engineering, science, business or a related field
In lieu of a bachelor's degree, a technical diploma, degree in an industrial engineering / maintenance field is highly desired
