Senior Financial Analyst
The Superior Court of Los Angeles County is the largest unified trial court in the United States. They are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to lead complex financial, budgetary, and operational analyses that support informed decision-making and enhance organizational performance.

Responsibilities
Conduct an array of comprehensive financial, budgetary, and efficiency studies to evaluate program effectiveness, assess forecasting assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, create modeling scenarios and provide actionable recommendations that support strategic decision-making across departments
Conduct program and organizational evaluations, monitor budget and revenue compliance, analyze variances between forecasts, budgets, and actuals and provide data-driven recommendations for improvements
Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve data quality, implement best practices, and enhance operational and fiscal efficiency by aligning business processes, financial controls, and system capabilities across programs
Develop and maintain advanced data tools and dashboards that integrate financial and operational data to track program performance, forecast trends, assess legislative impacts, and support timely informed decision-making
Manage, execute and monitor complex analytical projects, including long-range financial planning, legislative impact analysis, strategic initiatives, and preparation of detailed reports, fiscal assessments, and implementation documentation
Serve as a key liaison to senior leadership, Department and division Directors, and external partners, providing clear, accurate and actionable updates on program status, financial analyses, legislative impacts and strategic initiatives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in business administration, public administration, finance, or a closely related field – AND – one (1) year of progressively responsible experience involving financial, accounting, and management analysis, economic forecasting, financial planning and/or implementation or governmental budget, and finance analysis
One (1) year of progressively responsible experience involving financial, accounting, and management analysis, economic forecasting, financial planning and/or implementation or governmental budget, and finance analysis – AND – four (4) years of experience performing analytical work in support of accounting, financial, statistical, contract, budget, or other management analyses
To qualify for Options that require educational credentials, you must attach the required documentation to your application
Preferred
Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive financial, budgetary, forecasting, and efficiency analyses to assess program performance and provide actionable, data-driven recommendations
Experience with business process re-engineering, identifying workflow inefficiencies, improving data quality, implementing best practices, and enhancing operational and fiscal performance across finance, operations, and technology-driven environments
Proficiency in developing and using data-driven tools, dashboards, and reporting systems that integrate financial, operational, and system data to track outcomes, forecast trends, and support inform decision-making
Ability to effectively communicate and engage with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and external partners, conveying complex analyses and program updates clearly
Ability to analyze and interpret statutes, regulations, and policy changes, assess fiscal and operational impacts, and translate legal requirements into practical financial and reporting considerations
Knowledge and experience using Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Power BI, or other data and visualization tools
Ability to manage multiple high priority assignments in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment
Demonstrated attention to detail, accuracy, and precision with ability to attune to audience and exercise sound judgement in preparing and presenting information
Demonstrated Six Sigma experience and/or Green Belt or higher certification, with a clear and thorough understanding of DMAIC principles
Knowledge of Court financial accounting, statutory requirements, budget policies, practices, and procedures
Knowledge of Court case management systems (CMS) and related financial modules
