Test Site Manager

Element U.S. Space & Defense is a leader in testing innovation, partnering with NASA and the U.S. Department of Defense. The Test Site Manager will oversee all department testing, providing technical and administrative supervision to meet the department's goals.

Defense & Space

Responsibilities

Provide technical and administrative direction to the department staff
Interact with customers and Program Managers for technical support and review of test results
Troubleshoot escalated testing issues
Work with department staff to run certain test, particularly if they are complex in nature
Other - Perform other duties as assigned

Required

Manages, perhaps through subordinate supervisors, the coordination of department activities with responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffing
Able to complete advanced technical and mechanical procedures; able to perform assignments that are not standardized or prescribed. Works on diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation with understanding of processes. Advanced interpretation and analysis of test results. Acts as an advisor to others, to meet schedules and resolve technical problems. Develops performance requirements, may have budget responsibilities
Frequently interacts with subordinate supervisors, customers, and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company. Often must lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team
Advanced understanding of engineering principles; expert understanding of data interpretation, Dynamics testing & troubleshooting. Advanced knowledge of Electrical and Mechanical principles, strong knowledge of all potential aspects of safety
Strong management skills, mathematical skills, and mastery of all standard and complex Ballistics equipment. Proficient MS Office skills; understanding of AC/DC circuits
5 years' experience in a related industry
Experience participating in multi-functional teams

Preferred

BS in Engineering or related field
10 years in a related testing field, 5+ years in a management role
Experience leading in multi-functional teams
Experience in aerospace, defense, or heavily related industry
