Responsibilities
Lead and direct the Engineering team in support of Capital Projects
Serve as the primary engineering point of contact for project-related matters
Understand project scope, schedules, and deliverables; provide engineering durations and input to Project Managers
Prioritize engineering tasks to meet project schedules and customer expectations
Ensure quality control of all engineering deliverables
Attend project kickoff meetings and weekly internal coordination meetings
Collaborate with Project Managers on manpower forecasting
Escalate engineering and project-related issues as needed
Develop expertise in applicable building codes and standards (IBC/ASCE 7, CBC, AISC, ACI, NDS, etc.)
Utilize and support engineering software tools such as RISA-3D, STAAD Pro, AutoCAD, EnerCALC, and Mathcad
Train and mentor engineers; provide hands-on technical guidance
Drive process improvements and support adoption of new engineering tools and methods
Maintain in-depth product and system knowledge to support innovative design solutions
Perform additional duties as assigned
Responding to engineering inquiries from contractors, owners, and fabricators
Performing structural analyses and generating reaction loads
Reviewing shop drawings for constructability and compliance
Coordinating with PMs, fabrication, VDC, and other internal teams
Conducting QA/QC reviews of engineering packages
Developing rigging and lifting designs
Supporting field coordination and construction sequencing
Preparing and stamping engineering packages when required
Communicating clearly and responsively with all stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Structural, Civil, or related Engineering discipline required
Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred
10+ years of progressive engineering experience in construction or structural design environments
Proven leadership experience managing and mentoring engineering teams
Strong knowledge of U.S. building codes and industry standards
Advanced experience with engineering and design software
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating cross-functionally
Preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred
